The Vincent Kompany era at Burnley is over.

As we recorded this podcast on Thursday evening, talks are continuing between Burnley and Bayern Munich over compensation for the former Manchester City captain.

But after three days of intense media coverage – accompanied by radio silence from the club and Kompany himself – Burnley fans are now resigned to losing the man who delivered such a thrilling and successful charge to the Championship title and then such a baffling and miserable relegation campaign.

While the media will focus on what this means for Vincent Kompany and Bayern Munich, our focus here is of course, solely, on what this means for Burnley Football Club.
